Jef Aerosol - All Shook Up at Ad Hoc
The world has become a smaller place with the magic of the internet. Before such common things as email, chat rooms and the like, you'd often have to travel a thousand miles before getting to know someone's artwork. It's because of Flickr that I first became aware of Jef's artwork, albeit however Johnny come lately that may make me. After two or so years of seeing Jef's work, I finally got to see one of his shows and meet him in person.
Ad Hoc Gallery, who is in the process of re-defining their mission and changing their location, kept the show in the same block as their old location. Due to those changes, Jef flew over with a handful of stencils and began the process of making everything on sight for the show. Cutting nearly everything while in New York, he produced a show that had well over 85 pieces available for viewing.
Currently available for viewing, you can see the show at 43 Bogart Street in Brooklyn...
