On March 4, 2010, the 7th Ward Neighborhood Center will celebrate its 2nd Anniversary. Supporters will enjoy an evening of food, fun, and entertainment at the famed Sweet Lorraine’s Jazz Club.
Proceeds from the event will further support the programming, maintenance, and ongoing community initiatives at the Center, which is a program of Neighborhood Housing Services of New Orleans. This Center serves as a space where neighbors can come together to reconnect and organize, to participate in the rebuilding of their lives and neighborhoods, to access information and referrals to services available in the city, to increase neighborhood advocacy in the planning and reconstruction of the city, and to work together to solve challenges in their community.
Tickets are available for $40, with a limited number of $20 tickets available to community members, non-profit workers, and cultural workers.
The Center also welcomes any additional contributions to help sustain its work in the 7th Ward. The event kicks off at 8pm at Sweet Lorraine’s Jazz Club located at 1931 St. Claude Ave, and will feature performances by special musical guests Michaela Harrison and Troi Bechet among others.
