Brian Hulse - My Friend, My Brother

Brian Hulse Apr 7 2007

As some of you know, my good friend, Brian Hulse passed away this week. He was the type of person who always had a smile and could make people feel good. In the beginning stages of me putting my life back together after the storm, Brian had been there as both a friend and a brother. He was probably one of the very first to support me in my NoLA Rising campaign and to encourage me to put more of my time into painting. One of the very first NoLA Risers, Brian had also purchased a painting of mine to give to his sister Mary as a birthday presents. In short, he believed in me and what I was doing and that helped me believe in myself. So, to that light in the sky that will always warm my heart, here's to you brother...On this day, I SALUTE YOU AND YOUR JOY FOR LIFE and hope that the lessons I've learned from you will carry me through my days. Be at peace, brother, for so many of us miss you.

  1. I only met him a couple of times but I'll always remember how the sun came out from behind the clouds for a few moments as the priest said his last words. It was a beautiful moment.

  2. Brian was indeed a good-hearted and hilarious individual. He would have me in tears with his jokes and outlook on life. We worked together for a time and remained friends afterwards. He was very loyal, honest, and good to his word. I remember hugging him the last time I saw him. My best wishes go out to all of his family and friends. I will miss him very much. May he rest in peace.
